Cash Register Guide
Overview
The Cash Register provides an overview of a specific user or cashier session within the POS system.
When a cashier accesses the POS screen, they must open the Cash Register by entering the “Cash in Hand” amount.
If a cashier has access to multiple locations, they must also select the appropriate location when opening the register (added in StoreMate V 2.19).
Register Actions
- Every sale made by the cashier is logged in the Cash Register.
- In the POS screen, you can view register details by clicking the “Register Details” button in the top navigation bar. This shows the Cash in Hand, cash details by other payment methods, and the amount refunded by the cashier.
- To close a cash register, click on the red-colored “Close Register” button. The cashier will then need to enter details for Total Cash, Total Card Slips, Total Cheques, and other relevant fields.
Viewing Cash Register Reports
To view all cash register sessions, go to Reports -> Register Report. This section provides details for each session, including cash totals and transaction summaries.
Note: The Cash Register is essential for maintaining accurate records of cashier activity and cash handling throughout each session.
